| Signatories of the MoU and SPAs |
The University of Bamenda and some Private higher education institutions PHEIs has taken a big step to expanding it's academic influence by signing a memorandum of understand MoUs and a Special agreement of Extension SPAs to promote learning and research in the country. |
Chaired by the representative of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Cheo Suh Emmanuel, the University of Bamenda signed a memorandum of understanding with 19Private institutions, 5 special agreement and 3 extension of special agreement. The ceremony took place at the university of Bamenda restaurant.
The signing of understanding and agreement will widen the financial and academic authority of the university and this will equally provide legal binding and recognition of affiliations for the Private signatories of this agreement

| An interview with Prof Cheo Suh |
In a a post ceremonial interview with the representative of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bamenda, he enumerates the significance of the signatory to the institute " The University of Bamenda like other state universities have a mandate within the higher education framework of the country to accompany Private institution on a journey aimed at training the work force for tomorrow. In that sense, our major role is to ensure that the programs that these schools have, the University of Bamenda has the man power to follow up these schools to ensure that they implement the programs according" Prof Cheo Suh Emmanuel denotes.
He goes ahead to say " By establishing these goals, it is to ensure that each and every school will work hand-in-hand to ensure that forget anything. We also ensure that by these signatories we will be comfortable to say that our students can use facilities in these institutions just as they can also benefit from what the university has to offer". He enumerates.
Prof Cheo Suh highlighted a number of strategies that is used by the UBa to maintain the respect of this agreement "We have teams that follow up the teaching, exams. Examinations are not written until they have been approved by the technical persons in the University of Bamenda. We also have teams that follow up their certification process to ensure that those who are going to graduate from those institutions and incidentally have a decree in the University of Bamenda, their transcripts is an evidence to voge that they have gone through the right process".
Finding out the importance from on of the signatory institutions, I came across Ndongndeh Godlove the proprietor of The Higher institute of Professional Education and Practice in Bafoussam and he reveals that " The MoU will give credibility to all the higher programs that my institution offers in BA, Masters and HND. This will be an opportunity for students who are hoping to be affiliated with the university of Bamenda" he says.
The objective of the MoU is to establish a framework for mutual collaboration and cooperation between two institutions and it is signed by the Ministry of Higher Education.
